The Vault Smokehouse

This place is absolutely one of the coolest restaurants in the area. Whenever I come to this place I am profoundly pleased. They preserve their high level service and the highest level of dishes they serve. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Very recommended.

Great food, great people. My favorite BBQ place in Waxahachie. Try the brisket, it's awesome. Discount for police, fire, military and veterans.

Long Review...In December, some co-workers and I drove down from Grand Prairie to eat a late lunch. As we pulled up, the owner was closing the door for the day. He told us he was sold out, and maybe had a slab of ribs left. Disappointed, we went next door to look around. While we were in there, The Vault owner walked in and handed us a to-go bag that had the ribs in there. Let me just say, they were sooooooo good! He didn't have to do that, but it was greatly appreciated.Fast forward to Spring Break...I told my wife we had to go and eat here because of my past experience. We were happy we did. The sides were great, the brisket by itself (no sauce) was very flavorful, the jalapeno cheddar sausage was amazing and of course the ribs did not disappoint. I asked the owner if he remembered me, and he did. We ended up chatting for around 30 minutes. His family happened to be there too and they were all so nice. I highly recommend this place and encourage you to eat there!

Wonderful Food!!!! Everything they make is excellent. AMAZING brisket....Best I've ever had. I get the brisket with the fat not trimmed ! seriously, the flavor is off the charts. The chef knows how to cook it, when you trim off that fat you trim all that flavor! Theyll make it either way. Our bodies actually need some healthy fat!!

I'm a vegetarian so BBQ places are generally not my top choice for a meal, but Money and Jason at the Vault are so accommodating to those of us who don't eat meat with great options. Huge, yummy baked potatoes that basically just melt in your mouth, mac and cheese, cole slaw and potato salad. It tastes consistently just as good every time we go. Their smoked salsa is absolutely addicting as well if you like some extra spice!

We came to this restaurant for dinner. we heard about this place from many people. Well, it was very successful. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had an excellent feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.

Money was a most pleasant hostess quick with a quip and an introduction to her husband Justin. The ribs: some of the best I've had. Good rub and the texture was that perfect combination of firmness while easily pulling off the bone. Great experience!

If this is the best bbq in Ellis county, this county needs help. Went in around 5 PM and understandably they were out of some meats. Instead of telling us what they were out of they waited for us to ask for a meat on our two, 2 meat plates and then they would say, we're out. This happened not once, not twice but three times. We finally settled on having the same thing on both our plates. Brisket was just passable and the sausage was dry. Sides tasted like they came from a cafeteria. After ordering our to go dinner to eat outside, we tried to order some brisket by the pound for later on, but they wouldn't sell us any. Even after they said in front of us that they had one brisket left. They didn't mind running out of other meats before 5 PM, why are they worried about the brisket? Don't think we'll go back.

Great location, amazing interior staff was very helpful but as a Texan you have some high standards when it comes to barbeque. Not saying food was bad but missed it in my personal opinion

The BBQ is spot on and the Chicken is the juiciest chicken I've ever had. The white meat is moist which is usually dry but not at the Vault! The only thing that I would recommend is step up the game on the sides as the meat is way more superior than the sides which creates an imbalance to me.

Ordered several times online. Twice it was canceled. Finally got to try the bbq. It's good solid mid range bbq joint from all my wondering. The brisket had a nice smoke ring. The bark was not as flavorful as some but more flavorful than others. It is moist and well cooked. The ribs were good as well.

The place offers a vast range of delicious food. I like eating here. Employees are always super nice, prices are affordable and the spot is always clean.

My husband, son and I had lunch at The Vault Smokehouse and it was the most tender, flavorful BBQ ever! Thank you for a delicious and satisfying meal!!! The entire staff was very courteous and friendly! We will definately go there again!

I went in for a quick lunch and had a very good brisket sandwich. The service was friendly and efficient.

Fantastic! The meat was juicy, the potato salad was on point and the green beans were very tasteful. The location is vintage and the restrooms are in the back and you have to walk thru the kitchen. Definitely recommend!

Great food. Highly recommend the sweet ribs. Very glad someone recommended this place to me. I was in town 4 days and ate here twice. Next time I am in town, I will definitely be back. Glad I went when I did because right after I left, they got packed.

Overall I was very pleased with the taste of the meats, we had brisket and sausage. But the pinto beans are so plain that it's sad 😔 they do not go with this good bbq. The beans are fresh but dried have no flavor. The potato salad was very good. We will not be getting beans as a side next time.

Good service and good not perfect BBQ. still a good place to eat downtown.
